Need help!

I was wondering if a clutterd cage would make my jackson chameleon not want to eat? I got him a new hanging pothos plant and when I put crickets and super worms in he's feeding cup yesterday they are still in there.

it is possible not the clutter, but more so if you changed the cage around. How long have you had him?

He is also shedding idk if that would do anything to his eating habits.

it never has effected mine, but some people say it has thiers. They are finnacky creatures.. I wouldn't fret too much. Give it another day or two and see what happens. do you have all the proper lighting and stuff..?

Maybe he doesnt like to be cup feed? you have had him for a week. has he ever ate out of the cup?

How about the rest of your care that would directly influence an appetite? Would you please fill out a how to ask for help form.

I use the exo terra repti glow and a 75 watt basking light. I will also try and take the cup out. I just don't want him to try and get a bug and get the soil from the plant I'll try and find some rocks to cover the soil, would that help?

It can take a week to adjust to any change, much less a new cage followed by a new plant.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cluttered" but chameleons like to be able to hide from you and lots of leaves are good for that. If it's so dense that he has trouble moving around, I would consider trimming the plant back a bit, but if it's just really full of leaves and he's able to cruise around the plant out of sight, that's likely to make him very, very comfortable.

I think you've just made big changes in his life in a very short time frame...he needs time to adjust.

Covering the soil with rocks will help prevent him accidentally swallowing dirt. Just make sure you get rocks that are big enough he can't possibly get one in his mouth. Places like Lowes and Home Depot have bins of various "ground cover" rocks you can buy by the pound. Get the biggest you think your pot can handle.
