need help on handling

Hi, I am a new chameleon owner and have veiled chameleon.
He only likes to go two places in his mesh cage and stays there and it seems his color never changes its always light brown and dark brown stripes.He is a young adult and can be hand fed and let's me scratch his chin without getting scared and sometimes he will walk on my fingers but does not like to be picked up.Also he does not like to go out of the cage when I try to hold him by letting him walk on my fingers then moving my hand he doesn't like it and puffs up. He has only been in his cage for 2 days so I'm not share if this has anything to do with it
And what's a way to make him want to be curious?
I would greatly appreciate if you would answer my long question list lol

When placing a chameleon in it's new home it's best to wait a few weeks for him or her to settle in. They get stressed fair easy and you want to minimize that much as possible.
