need help identifying plant!

so for a while now ive been saying alot that i would really like an umbrella tree. it seems like my grandma has one all along! (at least i think) i asked her if i could have it and she said sure. but im not sure if it is an umbrella plant because of its height. ill try to describe it as best i can, ill post pics in a few hours and let you guys decide.

ok so this is what it looks like: before i trimmed it down, it was about 6 ft. high. each branch that spawns out has about either 5,6,7,8, or 9 leaves on it. at the base it is really thick like wood, but then as it goes up further it is softer, like a leaf. the whole plant is green.

P.S. i put a yard stick and some twisty ties to make it stand up straighter.
again, ill post pics in a few hours.

sounds a bit like an umbrella tree, but the most accurate way of telling what it is if we see a pic.

well.. you need to post a pic, its a simple as that. schefflera aboricola is actually grown into a tree depending on if you do it yourself or if the nursery or suppliers do it. other than that, the common umbrella plant grows i stems and is more of a bush. ive botten s. aboricola many times, and the some times have an enormously longer stem then the res of the plant. just post a picture and we'll identify it

pics will be up in a half hour. (i forget how to post the pictures every time:p)

There is a plant that looks similar to a money tree that is not suggested for chameleon use.

Post a picture, no need for a guessing game.

it is not schefflera nor is it a money tree. the leaves look like ficus, but i know it isnt that as well. is it a tropical plant to even begin with?

I am talking about the Pachira aquatica money tree.

Some say it is edible, some say it is not edible..

PEOPLE eat the seeds, etc, but that does not mean chameleons can. It's up in the air.

Just go buy a ficus or pothos or a legitimate umbrella plant, it'll save you time and confusion..
