Hi there friends.
I have a cameleon africanus (almost 6 month age and 13 cm lenght), she desperetaly needs bigger terrarium.
The problem is, 45 x 45 x 60 cm (18” x 18” x 24”) (WxDxH) dimensions enough for a life time??
i have seen very beautiful terrarium kits on internet, like Sri Lanka Kit etc. and i seriously want to buy one of them.
So what should i do, and what should be the dimensions for my cameleon africanus?

Definitely needs a larger set up.. you would be far better off going with an all screen cage. At least three feet tall. A few other things to consider.. definitely a cage large enough to put an adequate lay bin in.

Terraria realy are not the best for most chameleons, unless you have a group of pygmys.

The Sahel (Chameleo Africanus) chameleon is a mid sized (if not slightly smaller) genus. I don't believe they will need the full 2x2x4 enclosure to accommodate one, especially if you have a female. Exo Terra Naturalistic Terrariums are FINE for keeping chameleons. If you are looking for a forever home and you really want an Exo Terra then get the Exo Terra Medium Tall. It's dimensions are: 24"x18"x36" (WxDxH). They still come with the nice rock background and you can make them out to be very appealing. I have personally only used Exo Terra's for my chameleons and have had no problems with me chameleons' health thus far (knock on wood).

I believe the OP posted yesterday in another post that he was having issues with a mold, musty smell in his "teraria" that he has his female in. Because of this, I would definitely not recommend another glass enclosure.

To the OP, I still believe you would be much better off with an all screen enclosure, especially when you take into consideration the fact that Chamaeleo africanus seems to do a little better with a little less humidity than other species (much like veileds).

I'm sorry . . . I'm confused. In the first paragraph you say definitely NOT glass, then in the next sentence you say "better off with all glass" and mention that the species the OP has can do with less humidity (but glass will help retain humidity, right?). Maybe there's a missing word??? Or am I just not reading this correctly???

I don't mean to be offensive; I just want to understand, as I am also in the middle of planning a chameleon enclosure.
