Need help ASAP

It's not your fault. Chameleons are very sensitive. (picture made me a little ill) I feel your pain its never something u want to ever see. I suggest finding a well backed up cham vet in ur area.. if its not to late.. if It doesnt work out try again. Sometimes our pets can be over come with illnesses that act so quick we don't have time to help.. its just life.

I wish u the absolute best of luck

Awe my heart just breaks after seeing the pictures. That poor poor little one. I do pray she will get through this with the help of another veterinarian.

So experienced members please tell me is Pred a drug that is normally given to chams? I personally can not take the stuff as I have bad side effects from it. I was just shocked to see it was given to chams... is the a common drug for them??

In my experience with all the drugs I have had to given for various things for my chams I have never been given prednisone, and it has never been mentioned. I wouldn't think it would be good for them though. I really hope she gets better. I would try calling a well known reptile vet and ask if you should stop giving the prednisone and the oxbow and what they suggest. At least even if you can't see them they can tell you if prednisone and the oxbow are safe

You had a wild caught chameleon and unfortunately a lot of these guys are doomed from the get go without a proper acclimation process.

Chameleons can be a great pet and if you choose to get another one definitely look for a captive bred specimen. They are far healthier and easy to care for in captivity. Any one of us can you help you decide on a good fit when and if the time comes.

I'm sorry your foray into the hobby wasn't a good one.
