nature's hidden jewels by Necas 2° edition

does anybody know if necas is going to update his book? a 3 one?

it have been many updates in a couple of species in the last years

but why in chimaira.de ( german version) costs 50 euros and in amazon 200.!!

I have both versions in German and English and the German was always much cheaper. It is published in Germany and I think translated in Germany so that adds to the cost for us.

I have got both editions in English and they are great books. Would be a great question to ask him if he is planning a 3rd edition. He is a member to these forums although he is not logged on much.

Not to disparage the Nature's Hidden Jewels - both editions are great and I used them faithfully for years. My go-to book now is Chameleons of Africa by Colin Tilbury. It includes a larger number of species and the information presented is more current. Unfortunately it carries a hefty price tag.

I think I also prefer the Tilbury book. It offers a lot of good solid info.

Except Tilbury has not got any Calumma or Furcifer? What I am going to be doing with my time if I have not got any good Calumma or Furcifer articles/chapters to read? Kinyongia, Trioceros, Bradypodion and Chamaeleo are golden however I cannot forget about my Madagascar genera.

How funny, I have almost nothing in my Necas book now as compared to Tilbury. Guess our interest can change over time.

Not funny and interests have not got to change. Tilbury just has got to scoot over to Madagascar and write a book about Madagascar. There is tons of information that could be published that would make a great book for the general public.

I don't know; I drink good scotch and watch the hockey game. :D

I going to Canada for Christmas I'm going to have to consider watching a hockey game while I'm there. I keep hearing good things from the locals in BC about Poutin (sp?) too.

Does anybody have this book for sale? Even the 1st edition can be good for me.

I know that the first edition can be found on amazon, but fairly pricy (90$ used).

Thanks.
