It just didn't make sense to me that they wouldn't grow. Double-checked with a vet friend that used to do exotics. When I asked, I got the strangest look, followed by, "Why wouldn't they?" and a big laugh.

I wear my Kyle sticker with pride! The day I stop learning something new is the day I cease to exist in the mortal realm.

Grow back is the confusing phrase. Is it grow back from being trimmed or broken? Or grow back if damaged or removed ?
The nails will grow like any animal, that is how the stay sharp. The should not be allowed too long. In the wild normal climbing around would wear them down. I do not think trimming is common, but I can imagine instances where it could become necessary.

However if damaged or torn out ,happens far easier than you think, they do not grow back.

I was just about to note that. Oft times if the quick is damaged or the nail ripped down that far, the blood flow is interrupted, so no more growth. Good thing we've all got extras!
