my mom keeps telling me to clip my chameleons nails Cleo's nails aren't even that long lol
but i am allergic to her nails anytime she crawls on me i break out

They vary alot in grip strength when on the forearm or gripping your fingers. Ive had smaller panthers with a deathgrips that leave 5 pin holes at every location they walk on, to very large ousts that walk on your forearm like they walk on the floor, and barely grip at all.

We once had a rescue kitten that had been declawed. Didn't seem to slow her down a bit—she learned to climb right up stuff using just her "fingers" and man did she develop a grip! She also became quite the boxer...

My beardie kept his nails nice & short on his bricks, rocks, and slate floor his first year, but he's been asleep (brumating) for almost 4 months, and his nails have been growing the whole time. If he can't grind them down himself, I may have to help a little.

This has been enlightening about chameleons. If the whole claw is lost (like declawing) then it surely won't grow back, but if trimmed or filed down slightly, it should in time, as with any animal's claws/nails.

Do you wash it with antibacterial soap when she walks on you?

I thought that stuff was banned a few years ago...

You could try beating your hands against a tree trunk until you build up callouses.

Dont get me lying to you. I just buy soap that says antibacterial soap.....I never asked what makes it antibacterial. Lol

It just didn't make sense to me that they wouldn't grow. Double-checked with a vet friend that used to do exotics. When I asked, I got the strangest look, followed by, "Why wouldn't they?" and a big laugh.

Beman broke one of his off as a baby. And no it never grew back. just a lil nub there.
