My sambava is blue!

Hey all! My Sambava panther male (who I've named Hyperion) seems to be turning blue! I know they can go through a teenage blue phase, but I was wondering how much blue is normal? Sometimes his bars are completely light blue, and sometimes they are a gray-blue-black color. The bars can also be a dark maroon color, a mix of red and blue, just plain black or gray, or a purple-y color. His face can also have blue stripes, which fire up yellow, or they can be shades of a really bright green. His tail stripes are always red though. When he colors up his stripes are black. His body is always green and a dull red-pink color and turns yellow and fully red when he colors up.

I'll try to post some pics soon, but he always turns a different color orthe camera doesn't pick up all the color. I thinki just need reassurance. :)

EDIT: Also thought I'd share, after not gaining much weight for a month, he took off and is now a whopping 63 grams. He's slowly catching up to Pan who is 118 grams!

He won't let me! I've been trying for a month! If you want to check out my last thread with pictures of him, it has a glimpse of his blue. It just spread to his whole bars now...

I don't believe you. I demand that you send him to me for an inspection! J/k

Don't ya hate it when they get shy around the camera?

Yes! He doesn't run or anything, but he turns different colors for the camera, and I don't want those colors! Pan does the same thing except he fires up and tries to fight the camera, which is funny, but it's hard to get his vibrant resting colors!

Side note, I saw one of Pan's clutch mates and his brother was tiny compared to him but he was super blue!

I would say this is normal. My Sambavas have all gone thru a phase where they had blues and greens, even pinks. One of my males in now 2yrs. old and finally showing red and yellow. Keep in mind the Sambava locales tend to take longer to mature.

Here is an example of one of my boys. One picture is him at 1yr. old, the other is him just over 2 and his colors seem to still be maturing.

Woah, he looks just like that! I wasn't sure if that much blue was normal :) I know Poncho from chameleonsonly is blue, but he was the only one I had seen that has a lot of blue.

Poncho is my little guy's sire! No sign of him turning blue yet, he's a little more than 5 months old now. Actually he seems to be a bit behind on coloration compared to other 5 month old panthers I see here, but I guess that's typical of Sambavas.
