Caught my cham today in full shed.

Aww! He looks amazing! I love it when Lily sheds - I find it fascinating! Its a bit like 'pass the parcel' - taking a layer off to find a brighter one underneath! Cool pics!

He looks amazing! Looks as if he just lost his whole layer at once.

Just a question, besides stressing it out a little, would pulling some of the old skin off be bad for the cham?

alpine, no, not if its just stuck a little bit, but pulling of skin that is still not quite ready to come off would be bad.

dont pull it off, give it a few days. you can mist him alot more often and after a few or so days, you can shower him to soften the skin off, that should help him finish shedding (letting the warm water bounce off the wall, like a mist)

He looks very doleful in that second photo. I like to find the pieces after the shed and identify where they came from - foot (tougher skin), back (can see the spines), etc. For a few years I was scrupulously collecting shed skin for teaching - certain aquatic fungi (chytrids) eat keratin, and you can use lizard skin or snake skin as bait to attract and catch the fungi from ponds, etc. I now have something like a lifetime supply.

Was talking with Trace about this last night....Chameleons aren't supposed to have emotions....RIGHT?!?! I've always thought they look and seem really annoyed, unhappy, frustrated, etc. when in full shed. I think he's looking at you like, "How dare you stick a camera in my face while I'm like this?!" Like he's scheming some revenge!

Just a question: Is he in a glass viv by chance? I notice a bare spot on the bottom of his mouth that looks like it been rubbed? Just an observation and I apologize if Im totally wrong, just curious.

Very cool, I posted one of Leo in shed, first time Ive seen it..They look like mummies.

Have you ever noticed him hitting the doors with his face? Maybe he thinks its another cham when its only his reflection? Ive seen bearded dragons with that same issue on their mouth and it developed into some serious issues.

Maybe someone else can weigh in if they think its anything to be concerned about?

Nice size Viv though.
