I am so excited that my pygmy is laying eggs. Just want to know how long does it take for them to hatch? Also when they hatch, does the babies just come out of the soil?

Depending on the incubation temperatures and humidity they should hatch in 60-90 days.

I would dig them up and put them in vermiculite. You can leave them in the soil if you wish. But I would dig them up to be safe.

I have heard others had luck just leaving the eggs in the soil. Personally, I take mine out and incubate in perlite. It's fascinating to watch the eggs expand. It also makes finding the babies a lot easier once hatched. They are so tiny I am afraid I wouldn't be able to spot them in the large cage.

Thank you guys! I don't have perculite, so I just left in the enclosure. I am so excited though and I hope we get some live ones. This is a first time for me. I think Mystery was already pregnant when we got them on 5/3 cuz she seemed really big even though she was smaller than Lucy in size as it is.

If you keep them in the cage, make sure to monitor closely. Once they hatch, if mom and dad are hungry then can mistake for a tasty treat. You will need to make sure you take them our of the enclosure as soon as they hatch.

Thank you for all your help. I will definitely watch out for them.

I think I mistake the one that had the eggs. I think it was Lucy that laid the eggs. Both of them have different personalities. Mystery is the one that is very calm when I hold her and Lucy is the one that always tries to get away. Lol
