I took her to the vet on Friday and x rays confirmed that she was egg bound. She was given a shot and I took her home. Saturday I brought her in for another shot, took her home and let her rest in her darkened cage, with the laying bin on the cage bottom. Saturday night I carefully peeked in on her and was encouraged to see her in the bin. But I guess all the stress of being egg bound really took a toll on her because she was in very bad shape this morning.
My reptile vet told me that surgery was an option but was very stressing on an all ready stressed out cham. Her surviving it was not very encouraging. I made the very very difficult decision to have her put to sleep this morning.
I am beating myself up despite my vet telling me she wouldn't have done anything different.
Peach was my very first chameleon. She was as sweet as her name and a wonderful pet. I have a very heavy heart.
