He stays awake for about 9 1/2 hours to 11 hours. Is that okay. Also his cage has water at the bottom from dripped. I have a bowl but a portion misses the bowl. I clean it up everynite

His sleep cycle is perfectly fine as long as he's not sleeping during the day. 12 hours on and 12 hours off is what they need. My guy goes to his sleeping area a couple of hours early. As for the water pooling at the bottom, I would look into drainage. You can either buy a drainage tray or drill some holes at the bottom and let it drain into a bucket. A quick search on this forum will show you the different types of drainage ideas from other members. Good luck, Meg.

Going to their sleep area an hour or two before lights out is common i believe.

They do this in the wild in search of a safe area to sleep.
