My panthers mauls the hornhorms

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this? When I feed my panthers hornworms, regardless of the size of the worm, they don't shoot their tongues. Instead they just walk over and bite the worm, and shake their heads and chomp it down. Much like a bearded dragon eating a hornworm.

I have never seen this happen! Mine have always shot their tongues.

Mine all shoot their tongues at them also.

My panther shoots his tongue at them, but my Jackson walks up and bites them.
