Hey Ryan! It was nice to meet you today!

You should post the video, I'm sure your chameleons are going to love it :D

Maybe you should also post a few pics of the components and what not (i myself am trying to look for a good rain/misting system) for only 40 bucks it seems like a steal :)

OK guys I'm going to post up everything I used Wednesday afternoon...if I can ill try to post a video....ill post pics and a parts list and where I got it all...

What I do for a rain system is put all my chams cages under a tree, get a powerful hose and wet the entire tree, the water drips on the cages for quite a long time, haha :p

My chams are out most of everyday and if I see rain coming I usualy leave them out in the rain (if it isnt too hard) for about 10-20 minutes.

But you have a nice indoor rain system :)

I just take my power sprayer, stand about 15 feet back from Rico's cage and blast the thing allowing the water to spray through the the screen and all over him. The biggest problem with this method is sometimes he'll get caught in the stream and forced against the back of the cage so I really need to be careful and keep an eye out for where he is in the cage before I pull the trigger.

I'M JOKING!!!! I don't do this, of course, I'm just seeing who's paying attention! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

We don't have a rain system setup for Rico but I think the rain system you've built here looks really cool and like the idea because it's just another idea of ways to provide a more natural environment for chameleons. I just recently received a Mist King starter kit and am working on getting is setup. I may consider something like this in the future when we move Rico to a bigger cage.

ok ive never posted a video but im trying let me know if it works if you like... tomorrow ill do a break down of everything on it.

Fountain Pump from Harbor Frieght-258 gph- $20.00

Home Depot-
clear 1/2" hose- $5.00
copper fitting- 1/2" thread to 1/8" nipple-$3.00
1/4" mister line, 50'- $5.00
1/4" mister line Tees-$3.00
2-5gal buckets-$5.00

1. I put the pump into the bucket, i took 2" of the clear 1/2" hose and a hose clamp i had at home and attached it to the outlet on the pump. Then I took the copper barb fitting and clamped it onto the other side of the clear hose.

2. I took some of the mister line and made a circle using a T fitting about a
12" dia. I took a tac and put a bunch of holes pointing down. Then i poked a hole in the screen on top so that the T nipple pokes thru. then i took some small wire and used it too attach the rest of circle to the screen.

3. Connected the T's poking thru the cage to the nipple in the pump with the mister line. Then i hooked everything up to a timer i had.

Then stand back and watch it rain.... my chameleons love it.
I also made my own drain system by drilling a few holes in the bottom of the cages from left to right. I had some aluminum gutter on the side of the house that i attached to the bottom of the cages at a angle. I put the other waste bucket under it and ther ya go. Its cheap and a awesome way to water the plants and chameleons. And it also sounds like rain in the room.

Any questions just pm me, hope ya guys like

here are some pics for ya guys

That's a nice rain system. You said you put it on a timer,so does it work once a day or couple of times a day?

I'm still working on what works best. I've had my chameleons in these cages for less than a whole day. But I'm thinking of running it for 1 min every other hour or so...they seem to like it alot
