My Nosy Be Babies Project

After months of research, when I finally decided to start my breeding project I told myself I wouldn't be one of the forum users to ask about breeding and then never appear again. Nothing against those that have done this, I just saw it many times when reading and searching topics. Well up until this point, I was exactly one of those people. The good news is that I haven't had the time to post for so long because there's only enough time in the day to go to work and then come home and tend to my babies, not including the time my wife also takes care of them while working from home every day. The adults, the babies, the enclosures, the plants, the feeders... the list goes on.

The last year or so of this project has been very rewarding and very expensive in both time and money and it was absolutely worth it. I have a whole new appreciation for what the breeder community does for their chameleons. Two years ago I started with a male from Chromatic Chameleons. I always thought chameleons were amazing creatures but was never in the position to keep one. Once I was I of course wanted a bright blue Nosy Be. After about six months with my buddy Blu I started thinking about breeding and raising my own little ones. I eventually decided on a beautiful little girl from Kammerflage and so it began.

Despite my lack of posting I have spent a lot of time reading the forums so I also have a huge appreciation for the experienced keepers on the site and other places online. Thanks to everyone posting their knowledge and experience over the years, it was a huge help! Specifically I used a post from jannb's setup for the baby bins which has worked great, really appreciate the pictures. Just about any question I did have was already answered by kinyonga and MissSkittles somewhere on the forum, thank you so much! Of course Bill's knowledge has also been very helpful whether that was through YouTube, the podcast or the ledges themselves! The one podcast Bill did with three other breeders was a wealth of knowledge and a great way to see different ways of doing things successfully.

I tried to keep it short but if anyone is still reading this here are some of the results of my project. Honestly one of the hardest parts of the project has been getting decent pictures of the babies. Neither the babies or my phone camera want to cooperate so I did what I could.
