My new veiled chameleon won't eat and turns dark green

I got my first chameleons yesterday i purchased a male and a female. The female seems to be doing good, she's eating and I think she's drinking but I haven't seen her drink yet. My male is who I'm worried about, he is always hiding either under a rock or in the vines, I've only seen him eat one cricket (my brother said he saw it eat one today but I was asleep) he's mostly a really dark green color except when he's basking which is rarly. He does not let me hand feed him or hold him unless he's a light green color. Is he ok? I'm worried because they are my first lizards and I don't want them to be sick or stressed? Can anyone help me?

chameleons will go for a few days without eating... especially when moving into a new enclosure, with new lights, and sights, and.......

give it time, keep offering....

New chameleons are usually very stressed after moving to a new environment and should be left alone for the first few weeks. (No handling and keeping cage maintenance activities to a minimum. Usually they do not eat at first. It can take some chameleons up to a week to start eating and some just start eating right away. It depends on the individual chameleon and situation.

You say that you bought two. Chameleons should always be housed separately in different cages. If they are being housed in the same cage, they need to be separated immediately.

It will help if you can fill out this form the best that you can: https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/
Also, please post a picture of the chameleon and your setup/setups.
