Yes, I'll play. I think its important to show where we started and how far we have come thanks to the knowledge shared here on the forums.

Here is my enclosure the first day, before the forums.

The pothos was only in around 5 weeks ago was pretty small but is nearly across the enclosure. I added the two wandering jew yesterday. So be interesting to see how quickly they grow in.

Wandering Jews grow like weeds. They'll be big an beautiful in no time. And they produce the prettiest little flowers.

Yeah I love them already. The bromeliad is supposed to be fireball on the top right so will see if it colours up under the light

I would pull the shelves hun. They will not tolerate the water and they take up space that he could use. If you need to raise plants up then get the closet maid wire coated risers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AES2XB2/ref=twister_B013CIT64W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

But you want all plants and all horizontal branches.

My cage was soooooo small
Compared to the 2x2x4 so I took a picture for size comparison. Still working on adding more branches and plants in the new enclosure.

IMHO by putting shelves bookcase kind of defeats the purpose to anView attachment 283790
It defeats the purpose for sure, but when your first starting it is really hard to get branches and plants in stable place without dragon strands and branches. Especially horizontally, I’m sure it’s just temporary. And I’d say she’s using the shelves for stability. Better looking out for your Cham if it’s going to fall

Sorry but I'm going to have to disagree. If you can't get branches local hardware stores sell dowling rods which I have attached (I don't have a dragon strand or ledges) to my repti breeze mesh and run horizontal across my enclosure also supports my pothos. But I agree that this is a step in the right direction

Using zip ties to build a frame work can allow someone to add height for horizontal branches. Really important for the cham that the enclosure be as natural as possible. Adding the shelving does not do this. It uses valuable space and since chameleons do not walk flat footed the shelves do nothing.

That’s all I was saying, it is a step in a good direction. It isn’t perfect but not everyone knows every single way to get branches to stay up inside a screen enclosure. And the shelves were that persons idea to do that, it isn’t harming the Cham, and you all gave your feedback of why they aren’t adequate and I just put my feedback as to why I understand it. Like you all say “it’s a learning process”
