Per the OP's description, it is reptile carpet. I'd be interested to see what the OP says about handling moisture. I would like to use something similar, but right now I do not use anything on the bottom because I worry about soaking up water.

Thats exactly what i'm thinkng... i mean is there anything we can use? mine is also bare with just the cardboard the cage came with.. which i cant rely on because of the same moisture issue.. Plus, its starting to look a little nasty... bummer..

I purchased mine from DIY Cages and it came with a plastic bottom. LLL also offers some bases here (scroll down about halfway): http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ile-cages-and-vivariums/screen-reptile-cages/ These can be modified for drainage.

This is the product I have placed on the floor. The floor is PVC I don't Use a drainage system.
The carpet gets wet from the automatic misting it also helps keep the humidity up.
At night since there is no misting it has time to dry up.
It's washing machine safe so every 2-3 days i pull it out wash it by hand and squeeze dry it and just put it back in. It's pretty simple been doing it a while now and it works wonderfully for me.
making draining systems is a hassle in my opinion ><

lol so is paying for a new carpet!

I should probably keep my mouth shut though since "the customer is always right"

Setup looks good. If you add anything put it up in the top 1/10th of the cage. Maybe cover 1-3 sides with plastic sheeting like for painting from home depot.

Oh I meant to mention you maybe should make 1 or 2 new fly cultures for down the road.

Nice set up, Personaly I just think its missing a nice big ficus or umbrella plant, live plants hold the water alot better to an If you ever invest in a misting system you will be wanting a drainage system else It will flood the room out

yup...You'll def need a drainage system. There's no way around it unless you house your chams outside.

You'll have water splashing on the mesh, dripping on your table, etc. It's a mess if you don't have one, especially with a MistKing. Your desk will start to get moldy and eventually break down on you.

Even with your carpet you'll get mold. Plus when your cham poops it'll just get messy cleaning it up all the time. It's just easier to wipe it off the pvc bottom.

My mist king + dripper probably drop about a gallon of water a day. Without a drainage system, I'd have one angry landlord lol.

I actually like the eco-mat carpet! I've been using this exact thing in Zaphod's enclosure. I have two of them so I can wash one and let it air dry, and put a new one in. I have noticed you don't hear the water hitting the floor after misting, and humidity levels are more consistent! Just don't get lazy and forget to clean and change it. I like the look, as well and so does Zaphod .
