Pic heavy so this is the general design plans first.
A steal piping frame was used. There is a 4" gap from top of the cage to the patio ceiling. The screen was bought from home depot and basically used super-glue for the whole shin-dig to make the cage. Completely "sealed" so I COULD let crickets rome inside if i wanted to. The screen "extends" to the edge of my balcony. My year old male panther has taken up home in in. It may need some branches but the types of branches I must acquire,, I am not sure of yet(like what beach is best to get some beach drift wood for free instead of buying the ridiculously expensive reptivine stuff or grapevine).
btw..what you see are magnets! They hold a piece of screen onto two of the steal poles. I can remove the "door" entirely. It is not exactly finished yet..I need to glue down some more magnets to make it seal like I want..but I works for now
On the floor of my balcony sits:
a 5' pachira aquatica
a 4' ficus(not benjaminia)
also there is a hanging pothos plant
I get sunlight right now from 3-6pm. I plan to put the UVB lights up soon but I wanted to wait until I got my MistKing in the mail.
I have a humidifier with PVC that can run fog to both cages.
My female lives in my smallest cage which houses a large pot, if she ever needs to dig, a hibiscus is in there along with some grapevine branches. I wonder if she would prefer more cover..i could add in some fake plastic plant vines that I am not using..idk..I think she is all set up in there. I also have an empty taller screen cage which the same hibiscus pot could go into but I would like to keep her in the smaller one as long as I felt she liked it.
It finally has all come together. I have not made a permanent dripper hanger or set up tubing for it because I have just been misting since I've moved..
AND I need to resolve my DRAINAGE concerns..if you have an idea for drainage that could even hold/collect the water after a water of my potted plants, your thoughts can be voiced here
The issue I am having is I don't know where the mist from the mister will drop to AND there is the fact that the bottom shape of my cage is not geometric like a rectangle or circle.
Thanks!
