My New Greenhouse Calumma Pair

Motherlode Chameleon

Chameleon Enthusiast
Calumma malthe is a species that I have had on my want list for a long time. Finally after years of prolonged waiting I have the opportunity to acquire a pair of this species of chameleon. These are some photo's of my pair of Calumma malthe I recently acquired to live in my greenhouse. I have my digits crossed that I can produce fertile eggs and hatch babies from this female.

That's great Jeremy!!! I love this species. I wish you the best of luck with them. Do you still have the C. brevicorne?

Thanks Joel! No I do not still own Mercedes my Calumma brevicorne. Calumma brevicorne is a big Calumma compared to Calumma malthe. They are about the size of a medium size Furcifer pardalis. They are a neat Madagascar Elephant Eared species I would keep again.

Super nice Jeremy, great species!!

Thanks Bob! I think Calumma malthe is a great species as well.

Yes, C. brevicorne is a much larger chameleon than malthe. I have a soft spot for brevicorne. I think am working on obtaining some as we speak. I traveled last week in hopes of finding some, but only malthe were available at the time. Did you keep just the one brevicorne? Did you try your hand at breeding this species?

I only owned the one. I did have first pick and for a brownish chameleon I think mine had the best color (black, tan and brown similar to a Mercedes). The owner had a breeding group and was big about the species. However he sold his breeding group abruptly.

I think I know a retailer who may have some Calumma brevicorne now. Send me a pm for the reference to the retailer.
