How big is your cham from snout to vent? Just out of curiosity, because my oldest cham is about 5 months old now and I should get him his grown-up cage soon, but he seems so little still!

from snout to vent he is roughly 6 inches. he had definitely out grown his small enclosure. He seems to have no problem finding food because there are never any crickets in the cage at the end of the day. i usually put about 16 crickets per day.

i looked up the price of the solarmeter and it is not affordable at this time for me. possibly in the future but it looks like i will be switching back to the 5.0 uvb bulb with basking and full spectrum bulb. i liked the idea of having an all in one bulb but i just don't have enough money to pony up for that gauge right now. and i don't want to risk his health in the mean time. i was thinking about just asking what a safe distance away from the basking spot would be, but if are suggesting an actual measurement, it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

what kind of fixture's do you guys have for those of you running full spectrum tubes? can i get them at a home depot or other hardware store? or can i use a regular bulb that emits a full spectrum?

The daylight bulbs (6500 K)? I got mine at Home depot, two 4 foot tubes for $7-8 and a fixture for about the same. Spent like $16 on the whole thing, and yours doesn't need to be 4 feet long, but since I'll soon have three large cages to light, I got it large now.
