my new cage

well im new to chameleon's in general so i decided to give making my own cage a try im not sure how its all gonna turn out in the end but let me know if theres anything i can do keep in mind these are early pics and im still waiting on stuff to arrive from the U.S

Everything looks fantastic!! Awesome Schefflera, is that the only live plant you have in there? Make sure you only keep safe plants in there with you cham . And have the proper lighting. What will he/she be...

well im aiming to get a ambilobe panther theres a registered breed like right around the corner from me , yea its the only live plant i have enclosure is 24" x 24" x 48 inch, the one plant take up the majority of the space so i dont see what else i can get in there. im still not sure if i have adaquate lighting im running a 20 inch 5.0 uvb bulb and a basking spot which ive got set to 85-90f, i still need some stuff to arrive like misting system and some other things.

Everything sounds great to me: lights, temps, plant, and cage size . I probably wouldn't put any more plants in there either; however, I would put some more branches or vines to create some more highways for when he arrives. Great looking setup, again

That looks great man. Nice job. I would go branch hunting and add a bunch of those. If you have access to Exo Terra vines, those work great. Any brand would do fine though. I would say to use vines/branches to add climbing space all over, especially the top and bottom. My Cham uses his plants to move around but spends most of his time on the vines up top. I'm still waiting for the plants to grow a bit. So that might have something to do with it. You could hang a Pothos from the top if you wanted. It looks like the wood would support it. Just screw a hook into the wood and there you go! I really wish I had someone to help me build my own cage. I wouldn't even know where to begin. But the DIY cages always look the nicest and most professional. Instead of my cage sitting on top of $50 shelves from Home Depot. Lol.

Don't feel bad. Mine is going to sit on top of a $12 plastic utility shelf from Wal-Mart! Only reason I'm building my own is cost. Everything has to be on a budget these days...

Yeah I feel you on that. This is an expensive hobby. It's for sure addictive though. I go crazy if I'm not constantly improving my Cham or his habitat. Now that there is nothing left to do for Bodhi, I'm trying to buy another Chameleon! I'm going to have to sacrifice my things for his space, and a crap ton of money. But I can't stop! I feel like a drug addict ready to pawn my stuff for an Ambilobe. I need an intervention for this Baby (Cham) Fever.

I can't live like this anymore. I surrender to my addiction. Can't we all just get together and create CA (Chameleons Anonymous)? We need help for people like us. And we allll know the government isn't going to fund it. They don't care about those of us suffering. According to them, we are just poor and crazed. We aren't getting any better either. This morning I caught Bodhi smoking some Phoenix Worms out of a bamboo stick. He's even sunken so low as to stealing crickets straight from my bin! He is hitting an all time low and I'm just trying to keep our family together. We are both desperate and in need of some serious help.
