This is my first GO with Chameleons. I waited Months so I could read and learn.
I adopted a Juvi first so I wouldn't have too mess with a new born. I have my set up still the way they had it so he can adjust to my house w/o having too worry bout a new cage. I have too take the bark out ASAP i just dont know how too move him yet since I haven't held him. Here are a few glimpses at my project. Critic please.....

Had to be reminded I need my Sim Card too DL pics..Oh well after lunch i will have um up..Thanks for the Help yall rock face!!

I would take a few minutes and read Jann's blog. It will answer a lot of questions you may not even have thought of yet. You might even keep a copy so you can look back later, it has wonderful information.

what type of champ did you adopt. and babies are no problem its amazing watching them grow up from itty bitty babies to their adult size. I have panther veileds and oustalates!!! looking to get mellers parsons and jacksons again in the near future!!!

i would def put him in a bigger cage when you get the chance he looks good. the sooner you do that the better might want to use gloves when you move him though!!!

That is the first on the list..I got him for free, (great salesman) so I NEED to def. Im thinking of the DIY cages and filling it up nicely with pothos and other lively plants. Thanks man i hope he isn't too grumpy. I hate getting bit, I had Constrictors for years so I know a nippy creature...Oh yeah about how big do they typically get? The bigger the cage the bigger the cham?

You'll want to get rid of the substrate. Otherwise nice enclosure, he'll need something bigger soon. I have a baby in the same size cage you have. I'd give him a 24x24x48, that will last him for life and he'll enjoy the extra room. You can always make him something bigger! :D What lights do you have?

My light is a repti sun(glow) .5/ I have a 12/12 cycle now/I use a 40w blue bulb for basking.
I use red bulbs at night I had left from my Snakes
I HATE that substrate I'm really JUST scared too pick him up as he is real grumpy.
I mist him in the a.m and b4 bed.
He eats like a goat and drinks well. He actually loves the Misting part.
I have watched out for his feces and they look great. As i Said i adopted him and the guy assured me he was All good. Thanks guy and gals yall rock hard..
I am now hooked on chams.

I assume your repti-glo is a tube instead of the spiral bulb? You don't need any bulbs at night, chams like about a 10-15 drop in temperature at night. You should mist about 3-4 times a day and not right before you turn off lights as it's best that your plants are dry before lights go out. So last misting about 45 min or so before bed time.

You can always wear gloves if you're worried he'll bite, sometimes chams are upset when you try picking them up but are fine once they're out of their enclosure but you should definitely remove the substrate asap. And you'll also need a dusting schedule for your feeders and a good gutload.

Cham ownership is the best, congrats!! :D

Thanks they sure are! I have the tube yes. I use gut loaded and dust them properly. I say the, I do it as I read. Use the d3 twice a month and dust w/calcium every time?

That is correct :) you'll also want to get a multivitamin which some people use either once or twice a month.
