Here is the newest addition to my collection, a Trioceros hoehnelii from Chris Anderson. She is awesome.

See ya,

Congrats Todd, I gotta Ho too! Mine likes to whip her tell back and forth and waits for the crickets to come to her. She wouldn't dare lower herself to actually hunting for prey.

I would like to hear an update on the personalty of yours once she and you settle in.

She looks like she arrived great, Todd. As Amy said, they are all very ungrateful and very pissy. Quite active though and packed full of personality. Its actually very funny, they definitely are cool little guys.

Amy, post some pics of yours!

Chris

She is already full of attitude.... Here is another pic, she has some very nice teal colors

This guy came with her, but has been more difficult to photograph

and yes, I am keeping them in tubs that I converted to enclosures with screenend sides for airflow.

See ya,

Todd

Its amazing the different personalities between the T. hoehnelii and T. montium, isn't it? The T. montium are much shier, slow moving and "quite" while the T. hoehnelii are more bold, defiant and active.

Chris

Chris,
The female T. montium I acquired from you is very shy, yet confident. She doesn't scare at all but is very elusive.

Todd,
You're very fortunate. I almost walked out of Chris's house with that male T. montium and one the "hoe's" as you all are calling them tonight. :p

Great shots too!

I am glad that I got the two that I did. They are great. Thanks for the comment about the shots but, I need a macro lens!!!!!! I keep buying chams rather than photo equipment... I rather have the chams anyway :)

Chris those little hoes need a Warning Label on them! I am just thankful they don't get big.

Todd, your little hoe has a 'kind' eye in that photo, mine has a permanent stink eye look. I swear I can hear her growling at me.

Amy - Have you noticed the feeding behavior where the Hoehnelii literally vibrate when they see/stalk prey? Maybe I'm crazy but I have seen her do it more than once. They are very interesting.

And Luis - My male Montium is very sneaky, and pretty shy, yet doesn't scare. I completely understand what you are saying about your female. Its very evident in my male.

From what I've seen these two species are polar opposites in behavior.

See ya,

Todd

I haven't noticed that ( I haven't noticed with my deremensis either ) I guess I am not looking long enough. No, she sits on top of her pothos plant and waits for the unsuspecting crickets to crawl up to her and she takes them off the screen one by one, gives me the stink eye as if I was going to steal her food and waits regally for the next victim.

Meanwhile my little xanth and fuelleborni stalk and pounce on their food all the live long day as happy go luckey little campers that they are. Appreciating my attentivness to gourmet crickets.

Has yours whipped its tail when it gets misted? I wish I had a video of this display. Talk about a major hissyfit. I import Artesian well water from France for her and warm it up to 98.1 degrees and add a lemon twist to it and she STILL gets pissed, slashing her tail and stalks off....HONEST!
