Yeah, lots of people use dowels. I only have branches, but it's sweet that your guy likes it.....how old is he?
I have noticed that my chams much prefer horizontal branches! I had a lot of vines and branches in their cages but once I put in a few extra horizontal branches those are the ones they're always on.
This might be a silly question, but where can you buy them? I have been trying to find them with no luck.
Lowes,Home depot or any type of hardware store normally has them for under 1-2 $

Is the dowel treated? With water and bare wood comes bacteria...just keep an eye on it. I'm no pro but untreated wood rots

I got an idea from the Chameleon Co. I also use rubber coated electrical wire ( I think it was from the Chem. Co. but don't quote me on that in case it was not from them!!) I found it at Lowes and took it home,washed well with soap and water and it works very well,my chems use it all the time. It is also very cheep and easy to use.

Yea Joe, just long wooden rods of different diameters.
I got mine at home depot, but like was mentioned pretty much any hardware store and very cheap.
I didnt treat mine with anything, I used a fine sandpaper and just took off any glue from the sticker and the first layer of wood and then washed well with hot soapy water. Yes it is prone to rotting or whatever, but for what they cost, ill just replace them once in a while.
My new veiled is about 3months. I just got him last week. Was told he was about that old and then a few members on here helped confirming that.
He got hooked up today too with a new mistking system. So when I get home from work tomorrow morning I am going to set up the timer on that and his lights. But he seems to be doing well so far, eating lots and drinking. Up until today he spent a lot of time under his basking light and moving around just a little bit. But like I said, earlier today he was like running a marathon in there.
I also want to do one of those wooden ladders in there. I bought dowels to make one then I saw they sold them as bird cage accessories. So maybe just pick one of those up.
