I have 2 Female Veiled Chameleons that are currently gravid and were mated on December 14th, there going on day 33 of being gravid. I've read they should lay there eggs between day 15-day 30?! I've put them both in the egg laying chamber at seperate times, but they just try to crawl out?! Any suggestion on what I should do?!

They need to be able to climb into their own laying bin on their own and they need to be left alone as much as possible. Usually a round container like a small-medium trash can is best. What are you using as a laying substrate, make it's damp enough to hold a tunnel. Have they gone off food?

I have about 18 gallon tub, I have sand in there about 7 or 8 inches deep, the sand is fairly damp for tunnels.

No we still give them food, there still eating, but not a whole lot, should I take that away completly untill they lay there eggs?

I agree they need their own separate, full time laying bins.
Are they housed together?
What are the temps?

They were both bred the same day?

No.
Keep feeding them.
Is this your first time with gravid veileds?
Why did you breed two at once???

There both together right now. They have been doing very well, there getting bigger and bigger as the days go on. I have not seen either of them walking on the floor of there cage. But for the last couple weeks i put them in the bin for about and hour or so..at this point they either crawl out, or sleep! but we do this at night since we do work durng the day!

No, No, No, No, No !!!

Especially not when they are gravid!
If they don't feel safe and COMPLETELY alone, I don't think they will lay.
You're about to lose two chameleons to egg binding if they're not given their own enclosures ASAP

Uhh ohh..Okay I have an extra cage I can move one over, and i'll give them there own laying containers! Anything else I should know?!

I got a bathroom sized trash can at walmart for like $3 and it is about 18 inches tall and we filled that almost full for our girl. Good luck. This is the right place to be. These guys know their chams. :)

Good.
It also helps to cover the sides of the enclosure with paper or cardboard or a towel.
They really need to feel safe and very private.
They are instinctually not going to lay eggs in an open space where they think everyone can see.
Read the breeding article on the site linked above.
I prefer to have a laying bin in the enclosure (then it won't matter if you're at work)
At this point you don't need much else in there ( a vine leading down)

Okay sounds good! I'm getting ready to move one of my girls into another cage, I'm going to put a laying bin in there with her. do you put your container in the cage or do you take her out and leave her in the bin for a while!?

They still have not layed there eggs yet...i think I was a little to early when I first posted this..There not eating as much, I weighed them on sunday..they both lost 10 g. each since the sunday before..there both getting really big. Still have not seen them walking on the ground, both cages are still covered. I'm hopeing they will lay in the next week or so.
