Hi guys! I have to say I am glad to finally have joined up here. Ive been a quiet follower for a couple months, reading many threads and gathering as much info as I could for my new baby veiled chameleon. I bought her at Petsmart about a month ago, and was told she was 2-3 months old. At first they helped get me everything, which included a 1'x1'x1.5' tall glass enclosure, and then I got on here and was like
. So I went back and just kinda bought everything again.
I now have a 2'x2'x4' tall all screen cage (a Dragon Strand cage, which I read many good things about). There is no more substrate now as I noticed she would occasionally eat small pieces when hunting her crickets. Which brings me to my next part. She loves her crickets.....she shows almost war paint like colors when hunting them, with a dark green base with almost black jagged triangles running from back to belly. I dust the crickets about twice a week so she can get her calcium, and have a cricket cage that keeps them well fed and alive for about a week. I mist her cage pretty heavily about twice a day, but I do have to say, I dont really know what to do with my lights.....
And now, for the FUN part! Here she is, the queen of her jungle!
Found you!
And shes quite the hunter too....
She missed this time, but she is getting better.
Wait for it...
WAIT FOR IT!
BAM
And I guess this is the after effects of eating a nice hearty meal? Is this normal?
This her war paint. The dark green in the picture turns into the darkest shade of green imaginable, and she sports dark green spots all over her body. Looks very intimidating, and if I was a cricket, I would know doom approaches
