My first Chameleon!

I finally gave in and got a chameleon! He is a 3 month old Nosy Be Panther Chameleon from Kaleidescope Chameleons.

He looks a little drab now since I just took him out of the box but here he is anyway!!

I haven't named him yet. I want to name him after some cheesy scifi character.

Hmmm Chewy might be a good one. He kind of reminds me of a Minbari from Babylon 5...might have to give him some lame babylon 5 name XD

I am quite familiar with the addiction I have 5 crested geckos and 6 snakes. XD Where will it end???

I like that name! Drat! Now I will have to get more chams and go with a sci fi theme XD Too many good names!

I will observe him over the next week or so and hopefully one of the names will just click.

Looks just like my little one I got last week. Take all the pics you can, they grow up fast. Mine's noticeably bigger in just 5 days.

Well mine came from the same place as yours and the camera doesn't phase him at all, even if it's like 6 inches away. I'm also eagerly awaiting the color change...never know what you're gonna get with an ambilobe. I'm already so attached to him that I wouldn't care if he stayed brown though. You may see flashes sooner than you'd think. Mine is the same age and he's already fired up a few times with bright red on his throat and chest that you wouldn't think he could show given his normally drab appearance. Then today I was really surprised when he got a bit chilly after a misting, turned dark brown, and showed some neon yellow on his armpits.

He doesn't seem to mind the camera too much so far. He gets a little tense when I get close but thats about it.

I did catch a flash of light blue which was cool, but as soon as I started watching him he turned brown again XD

He is a neat little man. One helpful hint if that is ok. His food cup should not be clear as he will try to shoot from the outside also & that is bad for his tongue. Also the cup seems pretty deep for that little doll. Keep the pictures coming.

Yeah I figured this one out pretty quick. Although it was pretty funny when he tried to eat the crickets through the plastic! XD
