Okay this will be my very first chameleon, but I hope I have done well! I ordered a 2 month old male veiled from FLchams, I ordered him this morning so he will be here within a few days, I'm not sure if they could have processed and shipped today and he'll be here tomorrow, or they'll do it tomorrow and he'll be here Friday. Either way, I'm ready!

The back light is the UVB and the front one is an incandescent basking light. There are 3 live plants washed and repotted in organic soil, 2 fake petstore vines and 2 fake petstore plants, a piece of driftwood, and the little branches are real but they're from Michaels, they're for decorating lol! I am a stay at home mom so I'll be around to do the misting, and I have a separate little "critter cage" with small crickets that I am raising myself so they can be healthy calcium fortified crickets.. Yummm.

Am I a good mommy?? I am excited for my little guy to get here!

Congratulations on your new little one on the way!!! I bet you will be pacing the floor.. I know I did! :D Any ideas for names yet??? You will have to send pictures when he gets home!! :)

Emily it is looking really nice. The only thing i could think of adding is more horizontal sticks for roads. I have to say for this being your first time, you have a great set up, crickets are ready. You will have a happy little one soon.:):)

Thanks! Will do, I have some more sticks :) Those vines are kind of hard to maneuver.. lol

Omg I'm gunna pee my pants, I just got the shipping conformation and my little dude will be here tomorrow morning!! I gotta pick a name!

If you're having problems getting the vines to sit where you want, you can take some wire and use that to attach the vine to the mesh sides... just make sure you twist the wire together outside of the cage. I've also heard of people using thumbtacks (again, the part you push outside the tank) to attach branches and such so there are more options for where to put them and still keep them steady.

The tank looks awesome, and congrats on getting your little one tomorrow, don't forget to get some sleep!

Thanks those are good ideas! I will have to give that a try. One of the vines is easy to warp, and the thicker one sucks haha

Welcome to the forums! You cage looks great and congratulations on the wee one coming tomorrow. Wait until you see the baby before you give them a name - see what fits them :)

Do you have your calciums and vitamins?

It looks great! My only advice would be to be careful with that heat lamp, little chameleons love climbing on the screen so you don't want him to get burned, maybe lift it a few inches, and raise the basking vine if lifting the light lowers the temp too much

What's the easiest way to do that? I don't have a lamp stand but I can get one! I did get a pretty low wattage because I knew it was going to be sitting right on top of the cage and I was worried about it getting too hot/burning the babe

I rigged mine to sit like six inches away with duct tape and picture hanging wire lol but a stand Or a clamp lamp could work, other people probably have less ugly ways of setting it up than myself haha
