Laurie, compared to chameleons, cresties are virtually self-maintaining...

Excitement over, until the next clutch hatches in a month, then another a month after that. Then unless my girl has anything else going on, that should be it for a while!

I now have 5 babies and 4 eggs...

Super nice. And very cute babies. Congrats. Also love the shots of the hatching. I can never see my lygodactylus williamsi hatching as they glue the eggs. Difficult to remove.

The last egg just hatched! I now have 7 babies and 3 adults. 4 are dark brown with varying dorsal patterns, 3 are fairly patternless and a gorgeous mink colour. Here are pics of the first 5.

The last pic of the baby completely flat out is adorable. He just looks like he isn't sure where he is or why. I love them all. I had no idea the were such little baby factories. Can you keep some of them together?

But check out the motion blur on the back feet! They are so fast. Until yesterday they were housed together, but going from 5-7 I thought it was better to separate them, so I have the 3 largest in one enclosure and the 4 smallest in another. As adults, females can sometimes be housed together if they are monitored for fighting and weight etc. Hubbles is convinced we should keep them all. Which is perfect for him as I'm the one caring for them!
