How old is she? She doesnt appear to have any yellow spots yet, which appear when they are sexually mature. Females generally shouldnt be bred until they are a year old or done growing. Laying eggs, especially fertile ones, take a serious toll on their bodies.

This is my male he is a bit younger plus he has a cut tail I got him at the reptile show for 15 bucks they said he was a Petco reject

Has any one heard anything negative about cut tails

They look much too young to be breeding. You really should wait until the female is a year old.

As long as the tail is healed and there is no infection, the male should be just fine.

Your female looks way to young to breed.
Females should not be bred until they are at least a year old, if not closer to a year and a half.

and as was also stated, she doesnt ahve the spots on her that indicate shes sexually mature.

your male looks a little too young as well, He appears to only be around 5 months old, and you should wait until hes older, when he can handle breeding.

not to mention, have you thought this through on breeding? trust me, its hard work.

7-9 months of eggs incubating wondering if they are truely fertile, wondering when they wil hatch. then they hatch, and you have lots of little babies to feed now. money money money. i have 38 eggs, 12 have hatched right now, and i currently spend more time dealing with them, than i do anything else. and they eat so much. ive had babies for a week and ive spent 50 bucks on bugs alone to feed them.

as for the males tail, i dont know why they did that, unles the tail tip was infected.

Nice pickup! He is a lucky guy that he ended up with you instead of at Petco. He certainly doesn't look like a reject to me

Thanks guys yes she's is about 8 months old right now and I'm not sure about his age this is tonight any idea what plant this is

I dont know what kind of plant, but I wouldnt use it unless I knew what it was and that it was safe because veileds will eat plants. Are you sure she is 8 months? That seems rather small for 8, and usually they have the mature yellow spots by 6-7 months.

She has been eating it a lot for about two weeks right now.i actually got her from a reptile show about 6 months ago or so. Figured most are sold at 2 months? When is a male considered sexually mature? the last two are about 6 months ago the day I brought her home

Please do not take this the wrong way, or think I am attacking you in any way, but it sounds to me that you might have a lot more research to do before attempting breeding, not to mention successful breeding. There is so much to learn about these amazing creatures, and if you are not extremely knowledgeable I would not want to see things go wrong. I do not claim to know everything, and it could just be the way I am reading the post, but I would suggest learning more before jumping into this. Hope I didn't overstep my bounds on this, but its just what I feel.
