My favorite part of chams.

In my opinion the best part is when I babysit, if they come to my house I let them handfeed one of my chameleons, they'll be nervous at first, thinking they're going to be attacked since reptiles in their head are dinos (close enough)! Once that tongue shoots they have this wide eyed awe that's adorable.

do you hand feed crickets to your cham? I am a new owner and have only had crickets so far, but hand feeding sounds awesome! maybe that would be a way to get my wife to stare at him for more than 10 seconds, haha.

I don't hand feed, maybe some day when they get more used to me, but I love watching them hunt. My favorite part of the day is when I get home from a long day at work, thow some crickets in their cages, sit back and watch them eat :)

I dont hand feed for this one big reason, my first Cham I hand feed and after a year he wouldnt eat unless I hand feed him!! This becomes a pain as you have to have Half a hour free every day to sit there and hand feed your cham, it's not natural and I had big problems with going on holiday, unless you have someone who is used to handling bugs and chams most arnt willing to hand feed them so who is going to feed your Cham while your away so I never hand feed

I always have hand fed, they're spoiled rotten! It gains trust and leads to handling, they get used to you and usually realize "hey, that tan thing with 5 tentacles on the end brings me food, maybe I shouldn't bite it!". I don't have a problem with attitude, some may not be as lucky and could get a cham that would hate them with a passion for their entire lives. A half hour of my time is really no big deal, and it usually doesn't take that amount for both of my chams, they're good eaters, and quick shooters. They know that when that door opens it's nom-a-nommin' time.

Your chams are lucky then, it takes me about 90 minutes to get threw feedin, cleaning, topping up misters and gut loading crickets and Dubi's a day so don't have that time to hand feed really, I just look forward to the weekend being of work when I spend a good few hours with them

I don't usually need to clean very often, Bobo just aims his butt over the holes in the floor and poops directly into the drainage bin. Setting up the mister is quick, only about 5 minutes. I usually don't do much all day anyway so I'll take them outside often.
