Im getting my enclouser setup for when I get my chameleon I have the 5.0 bulg hanging from the side on a clamp with a alunium dome 8.0 its at least 13 inches from a branch, any who what you guys think?

The first one is showing the whole enclouser the second shows the right side with a pothos and the left shows a scheffla (spelt wrong) I also have a twig in the middle and plastic branches connecting the two plants together with the branches and the real twig. its a 27 long 25 tall and 14 wide cage. what do you guys think of it? I dont have the chameleon yet so I can make adujustments I have a dripper system as well a jug with a hole and a mister. Does it need more branches?

I still need the correct supplements still

He has a heat lamp for his basking spot its winter and it gets to 83 F is that to high for a baby? inside its 70 to 75F

Thank you for advice and input in advance! Sorry for crud phone pics its all I have! edit oh yea I made sure to bake twig at 350F for 16 mins in oven
Im going to have to look for rocks to cover the plants too and the soil is organic!

i take it your uvb bulb is a cfl bulb, what brand and what year was it made? zoomed uvb cfls have been a major problem due to blindness and eye damage in reptiles in the past. also, 13'' is an inch too far for recommended uvb distance. a uvb of any source should be between 5-12'' away from the uv basking perch (branch)

the plants you are using are fine, but more branches are going to be needed, horizontally an a few vertical to enable walk ways up and down.

your cage is fine for a juvenile/sub adult, i wouldnt put a baby, seeing it is much too large for it to thermoregulate, find food, etc

83 is too high for a baby, what kind of cham are you getting? im guessin a panther or veiled, i would not exceed anything over 78-80 for a juvenile.

please let us know what sex and chameleon you are thinking of getting. temperatures will differ for chams in captivity due to being able to become gravid or not

Im using a exo terra repto glow 5.0 which they said was fine and if you go to the link that steelhead posted here

https://www.chameleonforums.com/compact-5-0-light-question-47860/

it says a alunium clamp fixure is ok to be 13 and higher because it makes the light output for UVB more better. I need more branches ok ill try getting more I want a veiled male you say I should get a juvinlle ok thank you ill get a juvinelle.

made this year the bulb was. Also thank you for telling me a juvinelle needs to be 73 to 80 what does it need to be as an adult?

I put more branches so I think my branches is good.

Top basking for my adult male is 89.

so a 5 month to a year 75 to 80 F and once a year 85 to 90F for a male veiled chameleon correct? For basking area?

no, even for a veiled i wouldnt go 90 for an adult. heres what i believe in regards to veiled temperatures;
babies - 75-78
juveniles - 78-80
sub adult/adult females - 80-82
sub adult males - 80-85
adult males - 85-88
