Some of you may know i've currently got two pygmy eggs in incubation. Well today, my girlfriends dog knocked the container over and I have no idea which way they were placed before the knock. All I know is they deffinately got turnt over atleast once. How will I know they are ok or not?

Tryme, I'm sorry to say this, but I think you might be in trouble. Turning of eggs is bad, they are Spectrum eggs, correct? Also, it depends on if it lands where the embryo is still on top of the yolk, I think the only thing you can really do is wait and see. Sorry. Hope this helps,

If the eggs are at an early stage of development you might get lucky. Thats why some breeders mark the eggs after putting them in the substrate.

Oh, that clears things up, I thought you would be able to put like Sharpie on it.

:eek::eek:, Then I think that is too late, umm, just let them sit how they are and watch them, have they started to change at all?

not that ive noticed not really but before i never really had much of a chance of examining them...

Thats not good, well like I said, the only way to tell is by waiting, give us updates!!! When they happen.

if they laid 3-4 weeks ago you might be in luck. Funny to mention this cause i bumped 5 of my veiled eggs pretty hard yesterday and a couple rolled over but i could tell which way they were facing. Im no expert but im sure if this happens before they break out of diapause your ok but afterward when the embryo starts to develop your in trouble if you move them.

menopause?? how about diapause?? :)

There seems to be a "window" of time when they are first laid when they can be turned without damage and again near the end. IME its the middle time that might be worse.

All you can do is wait and see what happens...and next time put them in a safer place!

Good luck!
