My Current Set Up

Just thought I'd post a decent picture of my current set up.
I'm looking into some shelves (to fit more enclosures vertically)
I've promised Frank that for now I will not make a bigger footprint than this in our house, so I can't take anymore floor space .... but I think I could use the wall more efficiently:rolleyes:
Gads!

I love the setup!! Are the vines you have in the cages the fake, flexible ones? I love the aluminun screen cages, the chams are so much easier to see. Where did you get yours and how big is the one on the right? I will have to upgrade mine in few months I'm sure... (if my cham survives my newby-ness)

The vines and branches are a combination of the flexible (fake) jungle vines and natural found ones.
I think the aluminum screen cages are the only way to go!
The one on the right is 2x2x4

*I purchased the big enclosure from Mike (flchams) the rest of them I have bought used from a couple of different people (I have 3 more in the garage).

Where do you get the real ones? I have been looking around but can only find the fakes at petshops and stuff...

Outside.
Cottonwood, Elm, Maple, grapevine are all safe as long as they are pesticide free and washed well.

I like using live bougainvilla in the enclosures as well.

setup

So where do you keep the chams, in a spare room of the house? I keep mine in the bedroom but am thinking of moving them into the spare bedroom in the basement. But yah, use up that wall space! There can't be any footprints on the wall mwahahahaha!

What color paint did you use on that room? It looks natural and I like it.

The chameleons live in the basement, in our TV and Computer room.
The walls were painted/Textured with Gold and Terra Cotta Venetian Plaster and finished with a gold glaze.

Great looking set ups.

Did you do the Venetian plaster yourself? We're thinking of trying it. What glazing method did you use on the finished surface?

Also, how is that palm tree doing in the enclosure? Ok, so far?

Thanks!

We did do it ourselves.
I found it to be quite easy ... you use a trowel or putty knife and just keep smoothing till you get the texture you want. The glaze is made for Venetian Plaster and I just ragged it on after the plaster was dry.

The Dwarf Date Palm in the Senegal enclosure seems to be doing fine so far.
It needs a decent amount of watering.
I hope it continues to do well ... I really like it for her and I think she feels safe with all the grassy cover it is providing.
