Are there holes at the bottom of that feeder cup? To prevent crickets from jumping, just pinch their hind legs.

Why would that be a bad idea? Your Cham will probably take a week or so it figure out he can’t shoot them from below but will eventually figure it out. It will work.

As long as she will figure it out. That was my concern. She really didn’t try to eat them yet

Yes because your misting session will drown your crickets without the holes for the water to go through.
