Check out that stress coloration! Just curious, but why are you letting her get so stressed out and handling her? When I got my second chameleon, I let him settle in for 2 weeks. Not sure how long you've had her but it doesn't seem like it's been that long yet.

However, they all look good. Congratulations.

i was doing some cage cleaning and she walked out on me and didnt want to go back in yet so we took her outside. She was fine till she saw the camera then its huff n puff. She wasnt as stressed as she looked. Esp since i have had her. where i got her from she had large black dots and black stripes. She is calming way down. I was very shocked that she took it upon herself to walk out on my arm. usually she will halfway climb on Tristan but thats as far as she goes. he was downstairs he heard me kinda call out HUNNY he thought something was wrong, i was walking downstairs cause she was on my back. we have tile in our house, my bigest fear is a cham geting brave and taking a fall. at first he was mad why did u make her come out blah blah we never force them out. then i told him what she did and so we took her out for about 15-20 mins. Shes been kinda odd lately. shes starting to shed her retained shed. the previous keepers liked to pick her shed off. its very difficult to get her to drink enough so im injecting crix and supers with h2o. her urate is more white now. id love to give her a shower but im not going to force her..not yet anyway.

Those colors are not very stressed for a Melleri. She doesn't look happy, but nothing to freak out over.

If you can't give her a shower, I would suggest using a misting bottle that you can pump up and use for several minutes at a time. If you use warm (almost hot) water they will usually sit and drink from it for a while.

I don't know why you are force feeding her... the melleri looks pretty healthy to me.... maybe a tad on the thin side. The fat pads look pretty nice though. The stress color while sleeping isn't good though. He/she is nowhere near a critical weight where you need to feed her against him/her will. Just give him/her space to get comfy. I know you've had her a while... so it is why I am wondering about her stress color while sleeping. Melleri are pretty smart and have good memory. So stressing him/her out makes a bad memory and he/she will associate you to be 'bad'. Did you get some plants for the cage yet?

FYI: I have a WC that didn't eat for about a week or two and was kinda thin. Giving him some room made him more comfy. Started to eat... but still very unsure about me.... now after about a month, will finally eat from me without stress... still kinda unsure about me.... but doesn't gape and hide and refuse food like he used to. The newest guy wouldn't eat for about a 3-5 days... now will clean his feeding cup as soon as I look away... and sometimes doesn't wait till im gone, just chows down.

Space and time is the key. If this is a CH melleri going without food for a while will not harm him or her.

Oh no she eats fine.. i inject her food with extra h2o. im not forcing her to do anything. my only concern is that shes geting pale. she is paler when she sleeps than she was and that just started. i dont think shes dehydrated her eyes and lobes look fine as you said. the only thing i have changed is instead of her eating only supers with a few crix i switched it around to crix with a few supers. im in the process of geting rid of ants that i found wondering around her cage and plant. as for the more plants yes i did. they are starting to get bigger i havent put them in yet b/c of the ant issue. and that is driving me crazy. going today to get vinegar. i think they came in the schefflera cause in inspected her cage and scrubed it down before i brought it inside. she has gone to the bottom a couple of times and scurried up the walls of her cage and that has me worried.. back to the drinking. she does drink just not as much as i feel she should. on a happy note instead of her urate being orange with a small off whitf piece its about half and half now but with white white. she goes potty in the same place all the time. it was a little jelly like around the urate this time though. what does that mean? As far as tika goes i am totally up for any suggestions as to what i should do or not to do.

her urates sound fine to me. if it is white white.... she is getting plenty of water. they need lots of water, but if her urate is white, it means she is getting enough.

You shouldn't feed so many silks and crickets.... mix it up with some HWs and silks. You don't want to impact her.

if her color is becoming more yellow and pale colored something isn't right.... she isn't warm enough, is stressed, something isn't right inside... if it is a female she might need a laying bin. A large trash bin works well.

at the moment i made one with extra organic soil in a large recycling bin i know it isnt big enough. i think it might be the ants i found living in her plant. when she first finally went potty her urate was all orange so im happy now that its going white. i think she may have a few eggs i cant see or feel them but havent gotten a good feel yet though. i dont know how to do it i dont want to feel too hard or too soft. sometimes she looks huge and others shes thin

don't start squeezing her if ya aren't sure what to do... ya don't wanna pop an egg if she has them... if you see her sunning her belly you'll know she has eggs. My female hangs it over the vine and give her belly direct light from the heat lamps its pretty funny. It's like she flops it over the vine and sticks it out.

thats cute lol. ill definately try to get more pics up of her stressing. it worries me. i love her so much and want the best for her. who has the best advice for panthers..just got our first male ambilobe b day was 8 25 of this year and hes jumpy and bit me 2 times the firsttime i gave him a look over lol. very skitish. i dont mind i dont plant to bother him lol.
