My cheap and simple drainage

So here is a pic of how I set up my drainage. It's crude, cheap, but works great and took 10 minutes. I just took 2x4's and made legs under each cage with enough space to fit a tupperware cake container (which suprisingle I've only had to empty once in 3 days) and put the cages on this makeshift structure. I then drilled holes small enough that crickets won't crawl out of but big enough for water to drain in the bottom of my cages. So far I'm very happy. As far as the emptying the pans part it's not a chore at all because of a sink I have 5 feet away.

And i should say the cost was $2.84 x 3 for the wood (Lowe's cut it for me to what i needed), an $2.37 per pan at WalMart.

I'm about to do something like that. I might use pvc instead of lumber though. You don't get water coming out the sides? I noticed that pans are directed under the center of the cages. Let me know how it works out. I like simple and cheap.

With the weight of the plant all the water flows to the center where the holes are drilled. I had one cage that leaked but I just put something under a corner so the water flowed to the center.
