Hi everyone..
I was doing a cage clean, and placed my 4 month old veiled on a sheffera I have outside my enclosure...
I was about to finish up when I noticed he fell off!
I have no rug, so he fell directly on the floor
it was about 60 cm high... :S
I was really worried about him, so I watched carefully after I placed him back in the enclosure, looking for any injury or illness...
How can I tell if he has a broken bone or something like that?
He seems to be walking fine, and everything seems normal so far...
when and how can I tell if something is broken???

hi there, i know it is stressful when you see one drop to the floor. They are designed to take falls. I wouldnt worry yourself to much over this if the chameleon is acting normal. Broken bones can somethimes be blatant and sometimes not so much. Just look for abnormalities. If it eases your conscience, post some pictures to see if other eyes can spot anything :) I think you kid will be just fine though.

My baby veiled always tries to climb walls, so when holding him he will go on his hind legs and lean out towards the walls (even if they are two to three feet away) and fall towards them. Unfortunately when I first got him he fell pretty hard. He was absolutely fine, still going strong.

I've learned to keep him above eye level for now, till he gets older.;)

yup! I've posted on here before worrying about when my little guy had a fall (about 55cm) he got up and walked away as if nothing had happened... if it were relative and we were as small as them and we fell the relative distance they fell we wouldn't have a chance... but that's why we don't live in trees :p

Sure he will be fine, but keep asking questions and let us know how is doing if anything does happen :)

My baby veiled fell a couple of times and it didn't seem to bother him. He just stands up and keeps climbing. He probably falls more when I don't see it.
I wouldn't worry too much.
