Ya that could happen, definitely don't try this! I knew she will go for my fingers, so just had to take this video. I always move my hand fast so she couldn't even get the chance to shoot her tongue out. But she always does that "pre-shoot" pose when I am around.

And this is why tegu's have a feeding tub. You pick them up and then place them in the tub that mysteriously has food in it every time.

Imagine if Mr. 20lb tegu thought every time you opened the door your hand had food. Now imagine someone else opening the door who doesnt know Mr. tegu has associated hand with food.

My female veiled does this too! Anything that's moving! She will even aim at my face. I'm always scared when putting my head in her cage to clean.
