My chameleon keeps trying to escape!

Hi I have an 8 month old panther chameleon who keeps trying to escape his vivarium nothing has changed inside apart from me adding 2 fans for extra ventilation, it is a wood/glass vivarium I realised he needed more ventilation hense adding the fans, I have also upped the uv bulb to a uvb 10.0 Exo terra repti sun. Once he is outside the viv he seems very happy turns a bright colour etc. He has just finished shedding which usually takes him less than a day, but this time took more than 2 days and he still has a small patch on his head. I'm really worried that something is wrong if anyone can help I'd be very much appreciative

Is the humidity still stable since you added the ventilation? I think I've seen other people point out that humidity can affect shedding. Otherwise maybe your cham is just upset at a change to his habitat and needs some time to adjust?

Usually the 10.0 uvb is reserved for the female panthers, not the males. Most tend to use a 5.0 with them. It may cause him fo darken, hide or try to escape it. I am confused though. Do you have an Exo-terra or a ZooMed Reptisun bulb? The bulb should also preferably be a T5 HO linear. I would maybe check his cage temps from top to bottom. Sounds as though he may not be liking something about his enclosure.

How strong is the air flow with the new fans? Have you tried turning one or both off to see if he calms down? Being trapped in a little cage with an persistent wind could be bothering him. Bright colors don't necessarily mean happy, but if he is excessively dark in his cage, then something is definitely bothering him.

He is also at that age when a "young [chameleon's] fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love". :D He might be interested in exploring the boundaries of new territories.

Can you safely let him free range for supervised periods? He would probably enjoy that.

He was trying to get out before I added the new bulb. He is not dark constantly when inside he changes from dark to light. The fans are very low wattage so barely any breeze just added so there was more movement of air. Think I got the repti sun part wrong it is the Exo terra but a 10.0 would you recommend a lower uv output, he seems to enjoy sitting on the blinds in the sunshine, and I do this daily, it was why I decided to up the uv on his bulb
