My Chameleon isn't eatting after laying eggs

My chameleon is 9 months old and just laid her first clutch of infertile eggs. She was not laying in the bin in her habitat so I made a larger one in a garbage can and would put her in for 2-3 hours a day. If there was no activity when i peaked in I would lower a vine for her to climb out so I invaded her space as little as possible. Yesterday after 7 hours of digging and laying and burying and she had moved to a small log i put in under the heat lamp I removed her from the bin. She looks very empty now and laid a total of 38 eggs ( I need to read more into the details about keeping that down) I steamed up the bathroom and put her on a decoration of hers in the bathtub where I hand misted her with lukewarm water. She returned to her normal colours and hesitantly ate 2 hornworms last night but she hasn't wanted anything else since. She is moving around her habitat slightly slower than usual but not by much. Eggbound or recovering?

What kind of chameleon do you have? If it's a veiled with 38 eggs she could have more eggs. Not eating (acting starving) after egg laying is usually not a good sign. You could try putting her back in the laying bin but if she were mine I'd be off to the vet for an X-ray. Time is a very important factor in a situation like this IMHO. I went through an experience similar to this last year with my female veiled.

Yes she is a veiled. She did eat 2 hornworms yesterday and 4 crickets just now as well as had a normal poop so I am going to return her to the laying bin for a bit and see how she does otherwise off to a specialist we go.
Thanks for the advice!
