my chameleon is not moving

Please you send me address of this farm in the Czech Republic (selling jacksonii) , but I got this male from them in October, so I dont k ow If I should buy chameleon again from those guys?

I had said I knew nothing about them and you could research them.
I would be afraid to buy from them again--although they might be a great company.

I spoke with the doctor and she told me that If he was bleeding from his nose it nean that parasites were everywhere in the system. She also told me that I dont need to to do anything with the cage, just if there was any of his pooh, but nothing else, that it was his problem and he was not well therefore he couldnt fight. (

I'm not a veterinarian but everything I have ever read about Coccidia said that " everything needs to be cleaned and disinfected " not just pooh removed.
The best cage disinfectant for Coccidia is hydrogen peroxide, according to these posts below.
Coccidia is a very contagious parasite. It can re-infect the same animal and spread to other animals.
Ponazuril (sold as Marquis by Bayer) is the newest medicine to fight Coccidia and works much better than other medicines against Coccidia--if the things I have read are correct.

I called her she told me they dont have such a medicine here :-(they told me Baycox is in this country.

I have been doing more reading and Baycox also seems to be effective.

More reading shows that Baycox, like Ponazuril, actually kills Coccidia.

This is why a good veterinarian is important.
Your veterinarian apparently has been keeping up to date with medications.

Please do read the links about Coccidia that I posted before. It should help you to know how to disnfect the cage.

I don't know.
If the vet prescribed these 3 for her then the vet should know.
If these are all the medicines that she prescribed for the male, then you need to ask the vet if she should get all 3 and most importantly, how much she should be given.
Dosages are calculated by your cham's weight.

No need for an apology.
I'm not sure why someone told you not to have tortoises in the same room with chameleons.
I know that it is not good to allow chameleons to be able to see other animals that are their natural predators, like birds, snakes, cats or dogs.
I don't know if seeing tortoises would stress a chameleon.

Dettol kills bacteria, which is good but I do not know if it kills parasites like Coccidia.
Whatever the cgae is cleaned with be sure to rinse with a lot of water to remove residues.

Hi, please I have problem, also my another chameleon fucifer oustaleti (female ) got blood in her pooph and it is like diarrhoea :-( I am affraid all my chameleons will be sick

Coccidia are very contagious and it looks like it has spread to other chams but none of us here can know if that is really what is wrong.
Keep in mind most of us here, like me, are cham keepers and not vets but there are 2 vets who keep chams on this forum.
I would try to get fecal analyses done on all the chams, so your vet can give you the medicine to treat every one that has parasites--if not simply treat all of them.
The only way to cure parasites in with medication and with coccidia, repeated cage cleanings.
It troubles me that your vet said you only need to remove the poop and not sterilize the cages.
I wonder how much experience she has with reptiles.
You might want to contact that vet below that I had mentioned in an earlier post , veterinary schools or even a reptile club for advice on local vets

I would use a steam cleaner and strong hydrogen peroxide because these are the only things that I know of to kill coccidia oocysts.
Instead of live plants, use fake plants and vines that you can sterilize until the outbreak has been cured.
Read all that you can about how others have cured their chams of Coccidia.
I had included links to forum posts about this and there are probably more than just those 2.
Baycox has been just as successfully used as Ponazuril, according to what I have read.

It would be good to be sure that your chams are not missing anything that they need to help their immune systems.
In an earlier post, you mentioned not using a UVB bulb. Chams need UVB to stay healthy.

Sometimes I just write too much.
There are 4 things needed:
1) Proper diagnosis
2) Competent vet
3) Very strict hygiene/repeated cage cleaning
This one includes never take a feeder from one cage and put it back with the other feeders and never put it back with the other feeders.
Feeders can transfer illness to other chams
4) Be sure all chams' care is correct

Perhaps you can contact chameleon keepers and veterinarians who are forum members: Dr O and Ferretinmyshoes to see if they have any additional advice for you.
