My chameleon girl got something on her eyes

Carefull... Too much vitamin A can cause some serious problems.

I've also heard this, but it is better to give them the vitamin A on a regular basis. Once hypovitaminosis starts, it is hard to take care of.

Being prey animals its their jobs to be, but kept as pets they often hide illnesses like this and most people cant tell until its too late or very very serious.

Yah....I was just trying to provide encouragement that the animal can bounce back from what seems to be a very challenging physical problem.

Hello, I am sending you actual photograph of her eye, please do you think I am not gonna loose her ? I hope not. I am saying that because I think it is not better.

progress is not going to happen overnight. it took some time to get where she is and it will take even longer to get her out of it. figure out which advice given you want to go with. research it and make sure it fits your chameleon needs. then follow that advice religiously. if you dont see progress over a 7-14 day period. try the next. sometimes its a trial and error when you dont have an expert vet in your area. many on here are not vets and mere hobbyist. so some advice will be invalid and some will possibly help you. keep us updated with pics and treatment.

Hello we went today to see the VET for controll he told nothing happen from the last time so he did blood test to her, and everything was ok, he gave me eye drops to give it to her 3x a day. He told me that it is very difficult to find the rason why her eyes are swollen. He told me it is easy to find out when the cham die. He is the best for reptiles in our country, so there is not possibility to go to and see the other one. I am also sending to you last photographs. I can also tell you that yesterday when she did her poop it was all white and water, she was drinking a lot. So I am also attaching new pictures

The vet is right, no one can be sure what the problem is. Keep up the treatment and keep hoping. It does look like it's starting to get better to me.............we hope you got treatment in time :)

The pictures really look like pictures that have been identified as "sinus infection" but maybe it's some other sort of infection. I'm hoping the drops will address that.

Hey-

I just wanted to add myself to the folks that are telling you that you might want to try vit a. My female panther eyes looked very similar this spring. Tried treating with antibiotic eye ointment for 10 days no luck. I scratched my head for another week or so and it got worse- she was soon unable to open her eyes.

I had raised her and my male who never developed this problem without vit a supplement so I decided to try vit a gel cap- just poked a pinhole in a capsule and dropped a single drop in her mouth 1x every 3 days for 2 weeks and it cleared up enough that there was noticeable improvement over that 2 weeks- she was using her eyes and hunting again. I then put her on my usual chameleon routine of reptivite 1x per week ever since and it steadily got better and she now appears normal.

I'm just mentioning because it sounds like your vet is in the dark about what the problem is and this is a very cheap and easy thing to try.

Hi , so finally her eye get better, I stopped giving her eye drops and after 10 days, it seems to be better. But I find something one her mouth, please can you see it? It looks like some tumor? Thanks a lot
