Our little buddy LT is asleep before his lights go out. We checked him before we left (went out for dinner) and when we came home we looked in on him and he's sleeping! His lights don't go off until 8pm, he's never done this before. Is it normal? Should we turn his lights off now??:confused:

any advice??

I have seen my chams do this too. As long as they dont start sleeping in the middle of the day, I think going to bed a little early every once in a while is fine.

It is that time of year. The days are getting shorter. I have a few mostly the veileds who are bed by sun down. Not matter what their light schedule is.
They are smart lil guys.

I had the same problem with my cham...He did it once about a week ago. I thought maybe he sensed winter time is coming up. Usually during the winter season lights are on for 10 hours a day instead of 12.

My cham went to sleep around 5:30pm, instead of 7pm.

Eversince then he hasn't slept in early. Maybe he woke up during the night or something, who knows.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. he's probably just getting used to his new lighting schedule :)

Not sure where you're located but try to keep your light schedule at 7am on, 7pm off.

ok. thank you.

we did shut the lights off early tonight, and were going to adjust them to be on schedule with the sun. Is 7am-7pm the recommended schedule? we live in central pa

Well it's pretty much what everyone would recommend...

But sometimes people have their lights on at sunrise, off at sunset. They keep it natural to their environment. Me personally, I do 7am-7pm. My cham seems to be doing fine :) He's actually getting ready to go to sleep right now. Just curled into a ball moving his eyes everywhere lol.

This is one of the few times your animals can save you money! :D My guy is in for the night right before sundown. I try to feed him earlier this time of year so he has enough time to digest.

I keep my veileds on a 11 hour schedule (7am - 6pm) only because Camo always seems ready for bed around 5pm! I figured I take the happy medium and set light off for 6pm and they are both okay with it!
