My Cham is looking quite fat

Hi there,

Pascala, my chameleon, is looking somewhat fat. Her stomach kind of bulges, but maybe it was just the angle I was looking at. I know she'll eventually need to lay eggs, but I don't really know the signs. She's about 10 months old. I have a potted plant, and not sure if that's suitable for her to dig.

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

She looks like she has eggs and needs a laying bin now. Below I've attached my blog about egg laying and the laying bin and Dez's video on how to make a laying bin. The potted plant will not work and if you don't provide her with a laying bin she could become egg bound and die. I would highly recommend you set up a laying bin today. I recommend keeping a laying bin in their enclosure at all time after they reach 4 months old.

Wow, thanks a lot! I'll have to get right on top of this! I can't believe she's already getting eggs!

:D

So I made a container of dirt-ish stuff for her to dig in and make eggs. Does this look right? It's at least 8 inches and there's no plants or anything, so she can clearly see that she might be attracted to digging there.

The thing is, I haven't seen her really even touch it yet.

Thanks for any and all help!
