Hi. Should we get bob a new partner? I have had bob and pickle for 6 months. Same cage ate and slept next to eachother everynight they got along amazingly. Pickle passed away and bob has been looking for her around the room for a week and a half. ( she was preg so we took her into another cage for a week and a half but she passed away 2 days ago) bob wont eat that much maybe two crickets in the week. He just lays on his stick looking around and if we bring him put to his obstickle course he looks around for a bit and lays down. Should we get him another partner? I have two others but way smaller and he tryed to eat them.... So there seperate. I dont know what to do hes so sad.

Chameleons dont really get sad like that. It sounds more like he might have some problem going on. Healthy chameleons shouldn't lay down like that. They should be holding their belly off the branch except at night time. Why did the female die? Was she egg bound? It would be best if you could post some pictures and fill out the how to ask for help form.

Why were you keeping them together and how big was the cage they were in? Its generally not recommended to keep more than one in the same cage except for a few species, and only with an experienced keeper and a big enough enclosure with proper husbandry. Are they veileds?

Yes they were veileds they were in a 5ft by 1 1/2 ft cage. They got along great. Yes she was egg bound she had too many eggs for her size.

I would not keep any more of your chameleons together like that. If you want two, then get two cages. Just because it seemed like they were getting along does not mean they weren't stressed out at times, especially for the female if she was gravid and no longer wanted to mate. Not a good idea keeping a gravid female in the same cage as the male. As far ad the male it is highly unlikely he is depressed and there may be another issue going on
