Just built my veiled a cage its 30x30x50 all screen with a hinged front door. I'm looking for any advice on what to use for the bottom of the cage. And for drainage. And also is he too snall for this huge cage right now? He's about 5 inches without his tail. Thanks!

I would look at getting a Pathos to hang in the top of the cage, or if you want to use the Sheffelera or Ficus, to place on top of upside down pots. Either way, this will put all the foliage up high where you want the cham. Use a feeding container, and he will be able to find his food, so your cage will work at his size.

If you mist by hand, you don't need any water collection system.

You will need lots of horizontal branches in the middle to upper areas, a basking light at the right temperature, and a UVB tube light.

You will need a vitamin supplement and 2 calcium supplements.

If you have any questions on lighting, temperatures, or supplements, read "Chameleon Care" on the home page.

I don't think any cage is too big.Just as long as you make sure hes finding and getting enough food he should be fine. Bump about the foliage you want a big enough tree/plant to reach somewhat of the top of the cage for some uv also. Here's some pic of my soon to be Panther enclosure the last two pics are of the bottom. I got the bottom from Home Depot right next to the screen supply, its a plastic like plexiglass type.It didn't come at the size i needed it so i had to do some cutting with a plastic cutter that they sell witch wasn't hard but also wasn't fun :) My cage by the way is 18x30x48..... good luck :)

In his cage now 16x16x30 he's got two schefflera two croton a ficus and a large pothos with about half dozen horizontal vines. Small pothos as his basking spot. Reptisun bulb dripper mistking. The whole deal to take care of him since hes my first. Also has repcal with d3 repcal without d3 herptivite. Reptisafe water conditioner. Everything. I like the acrylic sheet idea I was looking at that while I bought the screen supplies. Thanks for the auggeations I'm deffinately looking into them.
