My Brand New Baby Boy!!!!!

My girlfriend and I bought a gorgeous Nosy Be this weekend and here are a few pics. I was told hes about 6 mos old. Also, we setup a free range plant by his cage and when were close I leave the door open and run a vine to his cage. Does this seem safe?

Thanks!!!

Yea he's definitely big. He eats a lot!!! I've been giving him about 15 half inch crickets a day and he's eating them all. I don't want to leave any in there over night. Had a really bad experience with a vield about 10 years ago. But I keep a little tray of cricket food in the cage in case they're hungry and gut load them for atleast a day with cricket food, romaine, carrots, apples sweet potatoes and oranges. May be going a little over board but want to make sure he's getting healthy full crickets that aren't gonna chew him up. He's still real skittish around me, so I haven't tried handling him too much. He doesn't puff up or gape at me when he's on the free range plant just in his cage. Trying to make sure he's healthy and well fed and happy. I'm really happy we got him. Was looking around for awhile and finally got him and I am soooo happy!!!

Ohh and he won't eat in front of me. I wanted to see him eat so I knew his tongue was ok. I've only seen him eat one time. He shot his tongue out pretty far so I'm not worried. Just read some posts about tongue problems and was worried. But his tongue definitely works just fine.

Congrats on your new chameleon!. It looks safe as long as you are there to make sure he does not wander...and believe me, they will! I cannot see your whole room but I am sure you are aware if you are going to let him out of the cage that if you have other animals, especially cats, that they cannot have access to the room. We have had some horror stories on here with cats and chameleons.
